If you can think back to five years ago, odds are that if you asked someone what they thought about the idea of a touch screen mobile phone, they woudl've looked at you as if you had three heads. Fast forward those five years, and here we are today surrounded by nothing but newer, more sleek, and professional looking cell phones that feature a total touch screen environment. The same touch screen that was once only used at various large scale computers, is now fitting into the palm of our hand and delivering us information in such a way that we never before sought possible.
Arguably the best available touch screen phone would have to be the Apple iPhone 3G. This phone which spawned from the original iPhone has grown so much over the past few years, that we are expecting yet another iPhone to come out later this summer. Where the iPhone separates itself from other phones on the market is its total simplicity. Chances are that if you pick up a flip phone you will not see a QWERTY keyboard, meaning it is very hard to type. Contrarily, if you pick up a blackberry you will often times find a full keyboard right out in the open with a scroll ball for moving around the screen. If you pick up the iPhone the only button that you will notice is the "Home" button which allows a user to quickly exit whatever program he or she is currently using, and come back to the home screen. The keyboard pops up whenever the person needs to type something such as an SMS message or E-mail.
At the end of the day, nothing is perfect and this includes touch screen mobile phones. These pieces of equipment are revolutionary, but their are still bugs to be had. Though if you are ready to make the leap from that boring flip phone or blackberry, I would encourage you to take a look at the iPhone 3G (AT&T) or the BlackBerry Storm (verizon) and take the key step towards changing your life in terms of technology.
